Project Goals
- Provide useful and interesting information to video uploaders about the performance of their videos
- Keep all numbers relative and avoid exposing absolute figures that might conflict with those used in revenue sharing, because of differences in corrections for possible spam clicks
Work Undertaken
- Found the best way to display data over given time and geographic ranges
- Found suitable user interface controls for restriction of time and geography to certain regions
- Separated aggregate views from those of views for specific videos
- Integration of Insight into the YouTube account management interface
- Produced design mockups and specifications for three phased release
- Phase 1 - Exposure of viewing figures, distributed over time and geography
- Phase 2 - Referrer data and demographic breakdown of audience
- Phase 3 - Expose aggregate, channel level data to users
Project Goals
- Produce HTML and CSS for transit information bubbles from mockups provided by Jonah Jones.
Work Undertaken
- Formulated functional requirements document from mockups with designer and engineer
- Produced CSS & HTML that conformed to functional requirements and worked cross browser
- Found complex edge case stations that could be used to test different designs & code strategies
- Ensure that text was accessible, resizable and internationalisable and that it localised elegantly for US, European, Chinese and Japanese Maps
