Creative Director, Ltd

UpMyStreet was a popular and successful UK website that specialised in taking obscure government data and re-presenting it to people in simple and useful ways. Datasets were geocoded and users were able to map them directly to postcodes and town names to compare data about one area with another.

My role involved managing the creative team; producing pitch proposals; taking and developing design briefs, facilitating understanding between clients and developers; designing and developing web and digital TV sites and producing various printed materials and 3D projects such as trade stands and public access internet terminals.

I was also responsible for development of UpMyStreet core services: postcode based local information, directories, classified ads and discussion forums, across platforms including the web and the DITV platform Open/Sky Active.

Clients of UpMyStreet have included: SomersetOnLine, a local government portal built for the web, Sky Active and kiosks installed across the county; and the London Borough of Hillingdon, a complete redesign of their website.
